My name is Jessica LaMontagne.

I am running for my third term in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

I continue to represent all of the people of Dover Ward 5 and work to make our community and state economically viable and environmentally forward-thinking.

I take my responsibility seriously and did not miss a single vote nor committee meeting*. In my second term I was appointed deputy ranking member on Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs and played a significant role in defeating the worst of the anti-public health, anti-vaccine agenda that came before us this past term.

My legislative goals for the 2026 - 2027 session are to:

Increase the funding for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund which would benefit many projects and in particular funding for supportive housing such as people with disabilities, people in recovery from substance abuse, and seniors that can’t afford expensive Senior Living offered by the private sector.

Change our insurance laws so that people buying Medicare Supplement Plans are not locked into the same plan forever. This means offering these plans with community ratings and with the same protections for pre-existing conditions that the rest of us already enjoy.

Continue to fight for universal health care. I have again filed a House Resolution calling on our federal delegation for support Medicare for All. We cannot fix the health insurance crisis at the state level. We need national non-profit health insurance which is the only way we can reduce costs and cover everyone. This is also the only way we can really reduce property taxes. 15-30% of every city and town budget goes to pay for private health insurance for employees and retirees. This item in the budget goes up every year. All state and municipal employees could be insured with excellent, non-profit insurance and uses those savings for the public good

I will support all other legislation to make life for NH citizens more affordable.
